Characters
Four – 3 men and 1 woman
Synopsis
Romans 6:23 is a dark comedy about desperate people who become born again Christians for their own personal gain. They cloak their own neurosis as well as their sociopathic behavior in their Christian beliefs as they become sadistic and abusive towards anyone who is a non-believer. Although they are full of confidence that they are on the road to salvation, their manic personalities eventually spiral toward their own self destruction. Through monologues, the four characters tell their own personal story as well as a larger story that connects their lives together. Romans 6:23 is not an indictment on born–again Christians, but rather an exploration of what happens when delusional people manipulate religion for their own selfish gain.

Reviews
“In Wawzenek, Transient Theatre presents a writer with a humanistic comic style and a great knack for character and story. He knows how to bring fictional people to life, to provide actors with great moments of humor and humanity.” — Chicago Tribune
“Wawzenek cleverly has the characters speak only in monologues directly to the audience, so we get each one’s viewpoint, pure and undiluted. The story they tell is a funny one, and a bit macabre.” — The Chicago Reader
